Extreme Roatan – Running for Roatan

We would like to congratulate the 12 runners/walkers who have finished the 100KM Challenge. It’s great to see so many people logging KMs and getting closer to the finish line. Big thanks to everyone for participating and supporting the challenge. We have sent out the first donation from the Extreme Roatan event fund today to the SOL International Foundation in Roatan, who have been working the past few months delivering food bags to local families in need, the donation of $1200, will assist 100 families with food bags of staple food items for approx 2 weeks. Local food production in Roatan

How can we increase local food production in Roatan and lessen our reliance on imported goods? Could local and national governments create incentives on taxes, import duties, and permits which would assist in making local farming more viable? Start-up businesses would require months to begin production, but existing local producers could be assisted right away, enabling them to expand production, investment, and product lines.
