All proceeds from our online raffles will go directly to support community-based programs managed by #supportroatan. These projects include:
* Conservation with the Green Communities Project Our Green Communities project aims to create awareness of the importance of sustainable green communities while also working with local community groups, NGOs, and Non Profits to create programs that assist in making real changes on the ground so Greener Communities in Roatan can evolve and develop. Our core project for 2021 is our fruit tree planting project where we donate fruit trees to local community groups to plant food-producing trees which assist with local food security, environmentally conservation, promotes health and well-being, and creates awareness of sustainability.
* Bay Islands Tree Planting Project The Bay Islands Tree Planting project brings together local organizations working on tree planting, conservation, fighting climate change, food security, and micro-business development. Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of planting trees and in the process to plant 50,000 trees in the Bay Islands of Roatan, Utila, and Guanaja in 2021.
* Micro Business Development All our projects have a micro-business development focus, from encouraging small backyard tree nurseries, supporting local markets and artisans, developing alternative green businesses to planting trees now for future small business developed options in the future. A focus for us in 2021 is planting breadfruit trees, the humble breadfruit tree is a modern-day superfood and produces a vitamin-rich fruit that can be eaten fresh or dried and made into a gluten-free flour. We are currently setting up breadfruit nurseries to produce trees on the island, which will be donated and planted while we begin product research and development with local businesses for products for local consumption and possible exportation.
